THE INC 2022 (22-24 June, Limassol, Cyprus)

THE INC 2022 has set the research output bar very high hosting four highly esteemed journals (Event Management; Tourism Planning and Development; International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management; Tourism Management), generating two special issues in two of those journals (EM; TPD) expected to be published in mid-end 2023, having as exhibitors three of the largest publishers in the globe (CABI; Goodfellow Publishers; Routledge), supported by five international tourism organisations (ABTA; AEME; Institute of Hospitality; TMI; CHME), and officially launching ATHENA (Association of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Networks in Academia) a new research association consisting of 17 tourism-oriented research centres from 11 different countries. From the moment ATHENA was officially launched, THE INC became the official conference of the association. All these whilst 85 paper presentations delivered from more than 110 delegates coming across all five different continents.

THE INC 2020 (10-11 June, Leeuwarden, Netherlands)

THE INC 2020 has continued the legacy of the first conference, further improving its outputs. Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the conference was one of the very few globally that has been finally held (even if online only) during summertime 2020. THE INC 2020 hosted two ABS 2* journals (Event ManagementTourism Planning and Development) and one ABS 3* journal (International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management), it generated special issues in two of those journals (Event Management; Tourism Planning and Development), it hosted as exhibitors three of the largest publishers in the globe (CABIGoodfellow PublishersRoutledge/Taylor & Francis), and was supported by three major organisations, one per pillar of the conference (Tourism: Tourism Management Institute; Hospitality: Institute of Hospitality; Events: Association for Events Management Education). All these whilst about 60 cases delivered from contributors ‘e-coming’ from across five continents.

THE INC 2018 (26-28 June, Buxton, United Kingdom)

THE INC 2018 has set the research output bar very high hosting three highly esteemed (ABS 2*) journals (Event ManagementHospitality & SocietyService Industries Journal) and generating three special issues (SI) in two of those journals (two SIs in Event Management hosting 16 articles [Vol 23 No 4/5]; one SI in Hospitality & Society hosting eight articles [Vol 9 No 3]) planned to be published at the end of 2019, having as exhibitors three of the largest publishers in the globe (CABIGoodfellow PublishersRoutledge/Taylor & Francis) and launching a new scientific journal (International Journal of Spa & Wellness) with Taylor & Francis. All these whilst more than 60 cases delivered from contributors coming from 26 different countries across the five continents, and presented to more than 120 attendees.
